Tennis for Two
Tennis for Two
A simple remake of Tennis for Two originally made by William Higinbotham in 1958. A two player game where players can hit a ball back and forth while being able to control the angle of their shot. Tennis for Two was a simple game, but a pioneer for all interactive entertainment.

History
The original game was made on an analog computer in 1958 and is considered by most to be the first interactive video game. The game was widely popular when showcased at exhibitions with people lining up for a chance to play. Designed within hours and created within weeks, William Higinbotham along with a fellow technician, Robert V. Dvorak, developed the grandfather of all video games. The game was showcased and iterated upon through the lates 50s, but it was eventually discontinued and forgotten until the 1970s.

My Tennis for Two
My recreation of Tennis for Two was made in Godot keeping to the same basic principals of the game while adding some small simple items. It remains a basic game of tennis where two players can hit the ball back and forth when the ball enters their side of the court. Players can only control the angle of their shot, the hit impulse remains the same. It's not a great game, but it's a game nonetheless. I first heard about Tennis for Two when reading Ready Player One. This is my simple ode to the one that stared it all. You can visit the GitHub Repo Here.
